No Helmet, No Entry on Mall Road From Today
Lahore City Traffic Police have put a complete ban on the entry of bikers without a helmet. Talking to the media, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Dr. Asjad Ahmed Malhi, said no biker would be allowed on Mall Road without a bike helmet. “In case of violation, there will be a heavy fine,” Malhi asserted. He further said this is a model stage and will be spread across the city in the next phase.
The CTO added that this new law will have 100% continuity and will make sure to implement it thoroughly. Malhi reached Mall Road to launch the campaign today.

The traffic police have launched a number of projects and initiatives in the city to make helmets essential. Over the years, more and more bikers have been wearing a helmet. However, there is still a considerable number who don’t. A couple of years ago, the police launched the “no helmet, no petrol” project to make citizens buy helmets.
The police launched it under the direction of the Lahore High Court (LHC). However, the Supreme Court overruled it, and the ban was lifted eventually.
Traffic Monitoring Via Drone
Last month, the traffic police launched traffic monitoring by drones in Lahore. Mall Road was once again the place for the experimental stage. As per media reports, the police monitor traffic jams, hurdles, and other issues through a drone from one kilometer away. “It will increase traffic flow, and it would be great for both citizens and police,” SP Traffic Police Shahzad Khan told the media.
Initially, two police teams monitored the traffic through drones in different parts of the city. “We have taken proper training of operating drone from the experts,” one of the police officials said, adding that we now know about its hardware, software, and fly time.
