One-of-a-kind Gixzilla – Owner’s Review
Today we have Sarib bin Babar with us to show off his unique 2015 Suzuki GSX-R 600 in this owner’s review! He talks about the specs and modifications of his bike and his interesting helmet collection.
Model and Variants
This Suzuki GSX-R 600 is a 2015 model and an import of the year 2018. The bike has been launched in different series. Sarib tells us about the K6 model that was launched in 2008 and sported a star shape. His bike belongs to the K-11 series that was launched in 2015. Suzuki launched a new bike shape in 2011, and all following models, including the K-11, sport the unique, modern silhouette.
The gross weight of this GSX-R 600 is 182 kg, but the newer models see an extreme weight reduction to make these heavy bikes lighter.
Modifications
Sarib has modified his bike as per his choice and is really proud of his unique vehicle. The bike instantly catches the attention of the passersby because of its custom fairing. On top of that, the bike is also covered in custom paint of neon yellow and nardo gray, which is hard to miss in any crowd.
The bike also sports custom lights in the front with a halogen bulb and a xenon bulb. The bulbs look beautiful during the day and shift to HID at night, giving it a fierce nose. A Yoshimura carbon exhaust can be seen on the side of the bike. In Sarib’s opinion, this exhaust improves the bike’s power and performance.
Other modifications include after-market levers, bulbs, and grips which came with the import and add to the individuality of the bike’s appearance.
Performance
The Suzuki GSX-R 600 runs on 124/125bhp and provides outstanding performance. Sarib has personally opted for a flashed ECU for this bike and has also done some further modifications to enhance performance. He has disabled the O2 sensors, changed the throttle body, added racing power plugs and added new coils. All of this adds up to make the bike go faster without compromising on its performance and durability.
Sarib also suggests adding a good quality air filter like B&C or K&N to the bike which increases the lifetime of the vehicle. This bike sports a K&N air filter which is washed after every 400-500 kilometers. Sarib considers this air filter a lifetime investment.
The GSX-R 600 sports Brembo bikes which are not available in other variants of this model and make it even more unique.
Features
The Suzuki GSX-R 600 comes with two riding modes A and B. The B mode provides less power than the A mode. The A mode is the racing mode in the bike and allows high acceleration. It also supports gear changing option.
The digital display of the bike shows fuel indicator and mileage, which can be changed as per choice. The GSX-R 600 also comes with a new trip, start switch, a quill switch that tells you whether the bike is switched on or not. Other common features include a meter switch, power on/off switch, an ignition switch, indicators, hazards, high beam, etc.
Helmet Collection
Sarib loves his helmet which is as unique as his bike. He is a huge fan of Valentino Rossi, so his helmet is inspired by him. This is a one-of-a-kind helmet of the limited edition AGV winter test 2018 series. The serial number of Sarib’s helmet is 2065 out of 3000.
This helmet has a pure carbon fiber body shell because of which, at a speed of 170 km/hr, the helmet weighs zero kilograms. Carbon fiber is very safe and protects the rider from all kinds of severe accidents. Sarib recommends buying ECE and DOT approved helmets for complete safety.
Maintenance
The owner takes out his Suzuki GSX-R 600 after every 700 km for general tuning that includes throttle bottle tuning and oil filter change. The K&N and B&C filters are washable and cost Rs. 3000-4000 but are a one-time investment.
The owner suggests using high-quality heavy oil such as 10W-40 oil by Liqui Moly for better performance. All of this, including the air filter maintenance, costs a total of Rs. 7000-8000.
Price
Sarib had bought this bike for Rs. 2.5 million. He does not plan on selling it anytime soon especially considering the huge amount of money he has invested in it. But, he says, if someone is willing to pay a fitting amount, he might sell it.
Sarib’s social media handle is Beyond 101 where he creates content for promoting motorsports in Pakistan.
