Lahore Orange Line Metro (OLMT), also known as Orange Train, has completed two years of its operations. The authorities held an anniversary ceremony at OLMT Main Depot at Dera Gujran to celebrate the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by the Chinese Consul General in Pakistan. The Chinese officials from the consulate were also present at the event, along with Punjab government officials, guests, and metro train employees. During the ceremony, the top performing employees were given special awards for their outstanding performance last year.
The attendees also held a special cake-cutting ceremony at the end of the event.
Addressing the ceremony, the CEO of OLMT, Li Chen, said that in the last two years of operations, the Orange train has travelled approximately 25 million kilometers. “The metro has completed 200,000 safe trips with 99.99% punctuality,” Chen told the attendees.
Orange Train Won Award
Back in September, Orange Line Metro Train secured two awards this year at the Brands of the Year Awards 2021. The metro system secured accolades for ‘Emerging Brand of the Year’ in the urban rail transit category and ‘CEO of the Year 2021‘.
As the Orange Line Metro Train project is the first modern intracity metro rail project in Pakistan, these awards are a great achievement. The awards were received by the CEO of the train system, Li Chen.
At that prestigious honor, the CEO stated:
“It is an absolute honor for us to have received two prestigious awards representing the commitment and dedication of the entire Orange Line team to serve its local community in the best way possible. I also congratulate our Board of Directors and senior management for their leadership and the Orange Line Metro Train Lahore team for their countless efforts and commitment, which have enabled the project to reach this significant milestone and continue to grow.”
The Brands of the Year Awards (BOYA) is an annual national ceremony held by the Brands council where companies compete for the best product/service in several categories. Thousands of companies participate in this competition every year.
