Oshan X7 FutureSense ⚡ Hyundai Tucson – A Comparison
Changan Oshan X7 is here to battle it out with the popular crossover SUVs in the market. And we are comparing it with its competitors to see if the new car has got it. After the Oshan X7 vs Kia Sportage face-off, we have the Oshan X7 against another South-Korean rival, Hyundai Tucson.
It’s the top-of-the-line Hyundai Tucson AWD Ultimate vs the top-of-the-line Changan Oshan X7 FutureSense. Let the games begin!
Dimensions
Size-wise, Oshan X7 is bigger than Tucson. Oshan X7 is 4730 mm in length, 1870 mm in width, and 1720 mm in height. Tucson is 4480 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, and 1660 mm in height.
Engine & Transmission
Although Tucson has a bigger engine than Oshan X7, the latter has better power figures than the former. Oshan X7 has a 1.5-litre turbocharged TGDI Euro-6 engine that produces 185 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. Tucson has a 2.0-litre MPi Euro-5 engine that produces 155 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque.
Oshan X7 has a 7-speed DCT with four drive modes, whereas Tucson has a 9-speed automatic transmission with three drive modes. Oshan X7 is a Front Wheel Drive (FWD), and Tucson Ultimate is an All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
Lastly, Oshan X7 has a start/stop technology that automatically turns the engine off when the car is stationary. That means Oshan X7 has more power and better fuel efficiency than Tucson.
Exterior
Hyundai Tucson has got the looks, but Changan Oshan X7 does it better. The overall styling of Oshan X7 is more futuristic than Tucson.
Both cars have LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, electrically adjustable, retractable, heated side-view mirrors, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, and a smart key with a trunk opener button.
For the differences, Tucson has an add-on of cornering lights, and Oshan X7 has bigger wheels. Oshan X7 has 19-inch alloy wheels, and Tucson has 18-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
Inside the cabin, Oshan X7 again does a slightly better job with interior design. We have FAUX perforated leather seats in Oshan X7 FutureSense with 6-way power-adjustable, heated, ventilated driver and front passenger seats. Tucson also has leather seats with 8-way powered driver and front passenger seats and 2-way lumbar support in the driver seat.
Oshan X7 FutureSense has automatic climate control, whereas Tucson AWD Ultimate has dual-zone automatic climate control. Both cars have rear AC vents. The steering wheel in Oshan X7 only has tilt adjustment, and the one in Tucson has both tilt and telescopic adjustments.
Oshan X7 FutureSense has a 7-inch LCD cluster, whereas Tucson AWD Ultimate has a 4.2-inch TFT LCD meter cluster. The infotainment touchscreen in Tucson is 10.1-inches, and the one in Oshan X7 FutureSense is 10.25-inches. Both screens have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, but the one in Oshan X7 FutureSense also has voice recognition.
Safety
Oshan X7 FutureSense has more safety features than Tucson AWD Ultimate. It has adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking, 360° Camera, Smart Proximity Entry, Smart Exit, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), front and rear parking sensors, DVR (Digital Video Recorder), On-Board Car Diagnostic System, and four airbags.
On the other hand, Tucson AWD Ultimate only has standard cruise control, rear camera with dynamic guidelines, and two airbags.
Similar safety features in both cars include ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), BA (Brake Assist), TC (Traction Control), ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and Hill Hold and Descent Control.
Price
Both crossovers cost almost the same. The price of newly launched Changan Oshan X7 FutureSense is Rs. 5,950,000. And the price of Hyundai Tucson AWD Ultimate is Rs. 5,999,000.
