It’s not always that we hear this kind of news, but this is definitely one of those moments which makes us wonder how talented our fellow Pakistanis are. Muhammad Naseer is 27 years old motor mechanic who hails from the Bahawalpur region and he recently created a homemade car that can seat up to 4 people, he created it by using a motorbike engine at his disposal.

All in all, to build this car, it took Muhammad Naseer six months of sheer hard work, a 70cc motorbike engine, and a sum of Rs 40,000. While he is most definitely ecstatic about his custom made a car, he couldn’t help but show a little bit of cautiousness regarding his efforts, chiefly attributed to a recent event occurred with a Pakpattan man.

Quite recently, Muhammad Fayaz, a part-time security guard and a popcorn seller from Pakpattan designed and built a plane all by himself for which he was later arrested by the Punjab police when he took multiple rounds in the air in his self-made plane by using the metal link road as a runway for his flight. The plane was eventually dismantled by the authorities and later returned to him.

This event may have made Naseer a bit cautious of the authorities, as in an interview given to a local news reporter, while he admitted he is happy with his creation, he was also a little sad, he stated, “I made the car. Another fellow also developed an air machine but he was arrested by the police.”

However, there may be another reason for his fear as well, for which people around him may have played some factor. He believes that the police may arrest him one day because people around him keep scaring him about it, he said: “I don’t take my car out on the roads because of this fear.”

Regardless, what really surprised is how passionate this mechanic from Bahawalpur is, in the aforementioned interview, Muhammad Naseer also talked about the little to no resources he had while building this car and how he overcame various obstacles. He said, “I developed this car by spending Rs 300 to Rs 500 on this”, meanwhile in another statement, he said, “I prepared this vehicle completely in two years”.

In the closing statement, while we clearly understand that this Bahawalpur mechanic may not have followed all the required safety measures and quality standards when building his dream car, we do hope that the government should create better opportunities for people like Muhammad Naseer and Muhammad Fayaz, so, that their inherent talent may shine on a bigger stage, and likewise more and more like them follow their heart and come forward with their own creations without the fear of being persecuted.
