The federal government has announced a reduction in petrol prices and a rise in diesel rates for the next fortnight, effective August 1, 2025.
According to the Finance Division notification published on July 31, 2025, petrol has been cut by Rs 7.54 per litre, lowering the price from Rs 272.15 to Rs 264.61 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel (HSD) has seen a raise of Rs 1.48 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs 285.83, up from Rs 284.35 per litre.
In the previous fortnight, the government had increased petrol by Rs 5.36 per litre (to Rs 272.15) and diesel by Rs 11.37 per litre (to Rs 284.35).
