Expected Hike in Diesel and Petrol Price
Media reports have revealed that the prices of petroleum products are likely to jack up by Rs. 32 per litre. This would take petrol and diesel prices to the new high of Rs. 282 and 295.64 per litre, respectively.
As per details, the incumbent government is also embarked on increasing the levy on diesel by Rs. 10 per litre, taking it from Rs. 40 to 50 per litre. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has already announced the increase in levy percentage as per IMF conditions to inch up it by Rs. 50 per litre.
Moreover, Kerosene oil is anticipated to be increased by Rs. 28.05, taking it to the new price of Rs. 217.88 per litre. Meanwhile, light diesel could go up by Rs. 9.0, bringing the new price to Rs. 196.90.
If media reports are right, then it would be a record jump to bring the new petrol price to a historic high of Rs. 282 per litre.
