It seems the wait for new Suzuki Swift is going to get over soon as Pak Suzuki has rolled out the first locally assembled unit of the car yesterday. In leaked pictures you can see silver-colored unit in the factory. As per the pictures, the car has Halogen headlamps and DRLs. We think this is not the top of the line unit.
As per our sources, the top of the line Suzuki may come with fog lamps and alloy wheels. Furthermore, the sources believe that the launch could be at the end of February or start of March. And here are the pictures.
Earlier, pictures of a new Suzuki Swift on a car carrier were circulating on social media. A number of auto blogs and social media pages claimed that these are locally assembled units. However, we told you that nothing is clear yet and we should wait. And now it is proved that the spotted unit was an imported one.
Expected Engine Power
The company will launch the car with K12C (1250cc) Dualjet inline-4engine in Pakistan, possibly mated with 5-Speed Manual or CVT Transmission. Although there is another variant of a 1000cc Turbo engine in the international market, it seems Pakistan will get the first one. We think there is a valid reason for launching the 1250cc one in Pakistan.
The displacement of old Swift was 1395cc, and owners had to pay higher token tax, which affected car sales to some extend. Now the 1250cc engine displacement will be a relief for the owners because it means lower token tax.
Expected Price of New Suzuki Swift
The sources told us the company would launch in the price range of Rs. 27-28 lakhs. And if it is true, then we think it is a bit high because you can buy Changan Alsvin, Toyota Yaris, and even a base variant of Honda City in this price range. And most Pakistanis like to buy a car with Diggi. However, car lovers will buy it anyways because this new engine will be highly efficient.
We hope that the company will launch the new Swift at a competitive price. And the car proves to be a great addition to the local market. Furthermore, the sources told us that Pak Suzuki is very hopeful that the new Swift will be a hit among the local consumers.
Like Changan (despite i don’t recommend to buy Changan) Suzuki start the assembly before booking it is good, this is also what Kia done with the Sorento, it seem some brand are listening customers, it seem also Proton had accelerated deliveries time, Saga now is estimated 4 month before deliveries
Well let’s just hope the price remains affordable after alle here is the iconic car of Suzuki the Swift.
Overpricing the car is a recipe for disaster.
I do not know what has come in the mind of the Suzuki pricing team. They think that their product will sell like hot cakes.. well let me tell them.. yes, their are stupids out their that will try to book the car like hot cakes for the resell market and enjoy the OWN.
