Traffic Police in Lahore is taking every possible step to make roads safe for the daily commuters. Ranging from wearing  seatbelt and helmet, valid driving license to registered vehicles operating within the city, the department has implemented comprehensive measures to enhance road safety.

New Regulation

To promote safer travel, authorities have introduced a new regulation: passengers sitting next to the driver must wear a seatbelt. Failure to comply with this new regualtion? If it happens, front passenger will have to pay the fine.

The move aims to reduce injuries and fatalities caused by road accidents. Previously, the focus was mainly on the driver wearing a seatbelt. However, studies show that unbelted front passengers are equally at risk and can even endanger the driver during collisions.

To ensure smooth implementation, a one-week awareness campaign has been launched. This period will educate the public about the importance of wearing seatbelts and the new penalties. Once the campaign ends, enforcement will begin, and violators will face fines.

The message is simple: safety comes first. Buckle up, whether you’re driving or riding in the front seat, and avoid unnecessary penalties.

Another Update

In a groundbreaking move, the Punjab government has implemented major reforms to Section 24 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965, streamlining the vehicle registration process to make it simpler and more accessible than ever.

Residents in Punjab no longer need to limit themselves to their permanent residential district for vehicle registration. With the revised rules under Section 24 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965, vehicle owners now have the freedom to register their vehicles in any district within the province.

This reform is a game-changer, simplifying the process and making it more convenient for the public. It’s a reflection of the government’s efforts to introduce citizen-centric policies that prioritize ease and efficiency.

Previously, the requirement to register vehicles only in one’s home district caused significant inconvenience and delays. The old system added layers of unnecessary red tape, frustrating residents.
