After much-anticipation and wait, Sarfaranga Rally has been inaugurated in a grand manner. Top political leadership of Gilgit Baltistan and PakWheels’ representatives were present at the inauguration. The authorities freed the pigeons, while different cultural and sports activities were performed during the event.
The local children performed their skills of martial arts along with a marching band and local dance. Furthermore, a wheelchair race was held to encourage the differently abled people. Then the provincial government honored the local mountaineers and in the end the awards were distributed among the winners of wheelchair race and tent pegging.
Rally Updates
Today was the driver meet up only which was attended by the famous drivers like Sahibzada Sultan and Zafar Baloch. The organizers shared the rules and regulations of the rally with them. Meanwhile some drivers did the recce on their own to understand the track better.
Tomorrow will be the qualifying round and technical inspection of the cars, while the final race will be held on day after yesterday (October 16, 2022).
It is pertinent to mention that the rally is being held after a gap of three years due to COVID-19. We are sure that this year’s race would be a huge success, just like previous ones and we wish all the best to all the drivers for Sunday’s rally. May be the best one wins and May the force be with all of them.
