Shahzad Shaikh’s Mercedes C180 AMG – Owner Review
Today we’re here with another owner’s review of Shahzad Shaikh’s Mercedes C class. Shahzad is a renowned actor from Karachi, and today, he shares his experience with his 2017 C180, which he has had for almost six years. The w205 C class debuted in 2014 and remained in production till 2021. This particular car is an entry-level C180 which Shahnawaz locally sold. It comes with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing close to 156 hp and 250 nm of torque mated with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Purchase Decision
The owner was out in the market for a premium sedan where he considered the C class and Audi A6. He ruled out Audi as he and his father really liked Mercedes as a brand; hence C class was the only car that fell in his budget. At that time, the standard C class was priced at 6.2 million but was out of stock, and only one AMG package C class was available, priced at 7.8 million. The owner then increased his budget and opted for this C180 AMG.
AMG Package
The w205 C class comes standard with a decent amount of features. The AMG line has some extra frills, including a flat bottom steering wheel, sportier bumpers, and 17-inch AMG alloys instead 16s in the standard C, and black leather upholstery in the interior. Standard features include a panoramic roof, steering controls, ambient lights, LED headlamps, etc.
Drive And Comfort
As previously mentioned, the owner has had this car for 6 years and has thought of switching it multiple times, but the comfort and drive it provides are way ahead of cars that fall in its price bracket. The build quality is top-notch, and the driving pleasure is way better than local sedans, which now cost 10 million. Even if he buys a newer model of the C class, he would have to spend 20 million to get the same feeling he gets from this car.
Fuel Average
The owner doesn’t really keep track of the fuel average, but since he has had it for so long, he has an idea that it gives around 8 km/l in the city. According to him, he has a heavy foot; otherwise, this can easily give 10 km/l plus if driven with a light foot. He has yet to test it on the highway.
Maintenance
As per the owner, the car is maintained annually from Shahnawaz, and the cost has increased exuberantly over the years. Initially, it would cost him around a lakh once a year, but he recently got it serviced, which cost him 2 lakhs 16 thousand rupees. These prices can vary if it is maintained from a local workshop, but the owner prefers the authorized dealership.
