The FIRST LOOK Review of KIA Stonic EX+
Every car lover in Pakistan knows that KIA Stonic is the recently added subcompact crossover SUV in the market. KIA Lucky Motors unveiled the car during a ceremony in Lahore in two variants, EX and EX+. Today, we are here with the first look review of the KIA Stonic EX+, which is the top-of-the-line variant of this vehicle.
If you talk about its size, it is bigger than Suzuki Swift and smaller than Honda Vezel.
Exterior
The first thing you will notice is the new KIA logo with a fully closed grill. Besides the grille, you can see full LED Headlights and 4-Line DRLs. Under the front lamps, you will see Halogen Fog Lamps with Brake Cooling Ducts. As it is a top variant, there are Front Parking Sensors, and under it, there is a matte-finished front grille and a silver-coloured lower lip.
There is a Wide Fender Design from front to the rear, along with black matte finished claddings to give it a muscular look. Then you will see 16-inch Alloy Wheels with four lugs. Surprisingly, the car has Michelin Tyre, and its size is 196/55/R16.
The side mirrors have LED indicators, and there is a chrome strip from the front window to the back to give it a premium look. On the side, you can also see Roof Rails, which are only offered in the EX+ variant.
The rear look is also quite rough and tough with Silver Diffuser, Rear Parking Sensors, Exhaust Tip and Reflectors. The Backlights are LED and quite stylish. There are also a Rear Wiper and High Mount Brake Lamp.
You can open the Trunk with Boot Release Button in the rear, and it has an ample Boot Space of 325-Liter. Under the partition, you will find Space Saver Tyre and Took Kit.
Engine and Transmission
The car comes with a 1400cc engine which produces 98hp and 132Nm of Torque. The engine is mated with 6-Speed Triptronic Transmission, meaning you can use it as both auto and manual transmission.
Seating Capacity
As it is a B-Segment subcompact SUV, the leg space on rear seats is not that ample, especially for tall people on long journeys.
Interior
The company has offered a Smart Entry option in the car. On the driving side panel, you will find the buttons of Side Mirrors Retracting, Mirror Adjustment and Power Windows.
Coming to the dashboard, you will see different buttons on the right-hand side, including Traction Control, TPMS, Meter Illumination, and Manual Headlight Adjustment. You can start the car with a Push Start Button.
The car has a 4.2-inch TFT screen. Meanwhile, the car has D-Cut Steering with Yellow Stitching. On the left side of steering, there are Audio Control Buttons, and with buttons on the right side, you can control the TFT and Cruise Control.
The Indicators and Headlight switch is on the left side, while there are controls for wipers on the right side. Moving to the dashboard, you will see 8.2-inch Floating Touchscreen, which also has options of buttons. Around the touchscreen, there are Yellow-Colored Strip, which is also used all through the interior.
Under the Infotainment, there are buttons of Lock/Unlock and Hazard Lights. Then comes Single Digital Climate Control with Auto Mode, and under it, there is a USB outlet and 12-Volt Charger option. There is ample space in the central console to put your things, and there is a Parking Sensor button along with it.
The Handbrake is quite solid, and besides it, there are two cupholders. Between the front seats, there is an Armrest and quite good storage space under it. KIA is offering Sunroof in this variant, while Rear View Mirror is Auto Dimmer.
The seats are Two-tone with yellow stitching accents. The seats have High-Grade Fabric in the centre and Fake Leather on the sides. The Driving Seat has Manual Adjustment option. Overall the interior design is quite minimalistic, with hard plastic on the dashboard and side doors.
Safety Features
Setting the bar high, KIA has introduced 6 Airbags in this car, while the other safety features include Hill Assist, Traction Control, ABS, and Vehicle Stability Control.
