“The citizens can now visit any of 23 centers in Lahore under the new timing,” CTO told the media.

Digital Warden App

In another step to digitize the challan system, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has  launched the Digital Warden App in Lahore. The app was launched during a ceremony presided by CTO Dr. Asad Malhi.

Senior officials including Saddar Cantt Superintendent of Police (SP) Asif Sadeeq, City SP Shehzad Khan, Mughalpura Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) M. Ishfaq, Cantt DSP Farrukh Raees and PITB Senior Program Manager Rai Rashid were present.

Moreover, as part of the demonstration, the traffic police issued challans to violators. The app is launched to transform the traditional system of generating electronic challans. This app will help in eliminating challan books and fake challans. The app is already working successfully in other districts of Punjab, PITB said.

In the recent past, Lahore traffic police have taken a number of steps to modernize the traffic system in the city. The steps included drone traffic monitoring system, massive increase in challans for traffic violations and ending manual challan system on Mall Road.  Furthermore, the police have urged the bike and car owners to follow the traffic rules because these are essential for the safety of everyone.  Furthermore, this digitalisation will surely help the commuters as well because it will be easier to get a driving license and to pay the challan without any hassle or issue.
