Toyota Indus Hit Record-Breaking Sales in July Since 1993

The month of July has been a lucky break for all auto companies in Pakistan. First, we heard about Pak Suzuki’s highest ever sales of 15,207 car units. And now, Toyota Indus is celebrating record-breaking sales of 6,775 cars in July. As expected, Yaris was the best-seller among all Toyota cars.  

Both Pak Suzuki and Toyota Indus have achieved such high sales numbers, thanks to the new auto policy. The new policy introduced tax reliefs for all locally produced cars. Under those tax benefits, auto companies reduced car prices for consumers and won record-breaking sales.

Credits to the New Auto Policy

The new auto policy (2021-2016) has brought tax benefits for every car segment. The Federal Excise Duty (FED), Additional Customs Duty (ACD), and General Sales Tax (GST) have been reduced on all cars. 

0-1000cc Cars

-No Federal Excise Duty (FED)

-No Additional Custom Duty (ACD)

-GST reduced to 12.5% from 17%

1001-2000cc Cars

-FED reduced to 2.5% from 5%

-ACD reduced to 2% from 5%

Above 2000cc Cars

-FED reduced to 5% from 7.5%

-ACD reduced to 2% from 7%

Reduced Toyota Car Prices

The two Toyota sedans (Corolla and Yaris) fall in the 1001-2000cc category. Under the new tax benefits, their prices have come down up to Rs. 120,000. The other two locally manufactured Toyota cars (Fortuner and Hilux Revo) fall in the above 2000cc category. Under the new tax benefits, the prices of Fortuner variants have come down up to Rs. 400,000, and the prices of Hilux Revo variants have decreased up to Rs. 120,000.

We all saw the big car sales numbers coming because the consumers have been waiting for the price reduction since the beginning of this year. As soon as the auto policy came and companies reduced prices, there were more car bookings than ever. Hope the car prices stay the same and the rising sales trend continues in the coming months.
