Video – Toyota Pakistan Reveals Locally Assemble Corolla Cross Hybrid
After numerous leaks, speculations, and hints, Indus Motor Company (IMC) is ready to introduce its inaugural locally assembled hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), the Corolla Cross.
The locally manufactured Corolla Cross Hybrid was revealed during a line-off ceremony in Karachi yesterday. Notable attendees at the event included representatives from Toyota and government dignitaries.
During the ceremony, Mohamedali R. Habib, Chairman of IMC, expressed gratitude to all those who supported this groundbreaking achievement, emphasizing the enduring friendship between Japan and Pakistan.
The event was marked by the presence of Yoshiyuki Takai, President of Toyota’s Emerging-market Compact Car Company, who highlighted the increasing preference for HEVs in Asian countries. Takai expressed optimism that Pakistani customers would embrace the Corolla Cross HEV as an attractive, efficient, and exhilarating vehicle, mirroring its success in other markets.

Specs & Feature (CBU)
The vehicle has 1798cc hybrid engine, producing 168hp at 3600 RPM and 305Nm torque at 3600 RPM. The car comes with Direct Shift CVT transmission.
Exterior
The top-of-the-line variant has LED headlamps and DRLs. Meanwhile low-end variant will come with halogen ones. Meanwhile, the vehicle has body colored door handles, electric + auto fold side view mirrors, and shark fin antenna.
Additionally, top of the line variant has power + kick sensor trunk door, while other variants will come with electric lock boot. The company has installed 17-inch alloy rims in all variants.
Interior
It comes with 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, leather seats, Auto AC dual-mode, and rear AC vents. Meanwhile, low-end variants have fabric seats, Basic audio system with CD/BT, Single-Mode Auto AC and no AC vents for rear seats.
Safety Features
International model of the Cross, has 7 airbags, including driver, passenger, side, drive knee and curtains. Meanwhile, Low-end car has dual airbags. Furthermore, both variants have ABS, Hill Starting Assist System, parking sensors and passenger seat sensor.
The top-of-the-line variant has a moonroof, cruise control, shark fin antenna and rear Wiper with auto sensors. Meanwhile, the low-end variant doesn’t have cruise control.
All variants have Sports + Eco driving modes. Also, the company has installed Push Start feature in these upcoming cars, along with the smart entry.
With the over hyped hullabaloo they are causing and the obscene amount of time they took to bring this vehicle to Pakistan, you would think they will be manufacturing this thing in Pakistan and not just assembling it! …and it’s STILL not launched! Unbelievable! 😂
