Toyota Yaris vs. KIA Stonic | 1-1 Comparison After Latest Pricing
In the last two blogs, we compared Stoic with City and Swift. This is another follow-up of our comparison with Yaris.
Recently, KIA Lucky Motors announced a 1.5 million PKR price reduction on Stonic as a 5-year anniversary gift.
Now that it shares its price tag with the Yaris ATIV CVT 1.3 Therefore, here’s a 1-1 comparison of both cars.
- Price of Yaris ATIV CVT 1.3: 4.766 Million PKR
- Price of KIA Stonic EX+: 4.767 Million PKR
Our POV on Both Cars
Both cars are of different segments. Toyota Yaris is a C-segment sedan, while the KIA Stonic is a C-segment compact crossover as per the KIA.
Stonic uses sporty, aggressive, and modern styling, while Yaris uses simple design language. This makes Stonic a preferable choice for Gen-Z and Yaris for millennials and mature people who want to secure their investment and don’t care much about the looks of their car.
Resale-wise, there’s no comparison between the two. The Yaris has a Toyota emblem on it, so its resale is not an issue. Stonic, on the other hand, can take some time to be sold in the market.
Both are good value-for-money deals in their respective segments. If you care about resale and parts availability and want a sedan car specifically, the Yaris is the best option under a 5 million budget. If you need a modern interior with sportier looks, a lot of hi-tech goodies, and a pleasure-to-drive experience, Stonic is the best choice.
Exterior
From our POV, Stonic’s exterior is more practical and looks better than Yaris’s. Yaris looks very plain from the outside, while Stonic uses a sportier and modern styling approach. So, we think that Stonic takes the win in exterior styling.

Wrong comparison yaris 1.3 has no cruise control and stonic has.you have not mentioned yaris specefic model in comparison with stonic if i am not wrong you are promoting yaris instead of a neutral comparison.
Some of the yaris ativ cvt specs are incorrect
No doubt Kia stonic offers more features than Yaris but I will still go with Yaris
While comparison What’s the point of changing columns, Yaris at left cloumn in EXTERIOR comparison and at left in INTERIOR comparison. Pl keep same sequence
Be consistent in your presentation of data. For exterior you mentioned Yaris in the first column and for interior you had Yaris in second column.
Stonic created HYPE and closed Bookings. Stonic remained talk of town and its file moved upwards 👆 from rock bottom. KIA mission achieved and public in SHOCK 😮 upon sudden closure of bookings as INVESTORS jumped IN, as had hunger to invest somewhere. KIA stock CLEARED and STONIC would be ended forever! That’s what is a complete story ……
جاپانی ٹیکنالوجی کا کسی سے کیا موازنہ۔ کیاکسی گاڑی کی ویلیو ٹویوٹا ، ہنڈا یا سوزوکی جیسی ہو سکتی ہے
Goes to show that all car manufacturers are fleecing customers as they have the monopoly(mafia)..
Reconditioned cars should be allowed..then they will fall on their feet..
A person just sold 2022 stonic at around 4.1 million, resale problem with stonic is definitely there.
Captain is 100% right
Kia should open there booking to create their market share more as compare to.big three
Price drop will only entertain few customer and mostly investors
Now the question is when the booking open again what price we can expect from kia?
Very true
In Pakistan there is always a cheating story behind such false attractions
@Khurram
updated the exterior column now its in the same format as other columns. Thanks for highlighting!
@Abid
Thanks for highlighting, I’ve updated the column now it’s same as other columns
@Sarmad Shafiq
Thanks for highlighting, I’ve added cruise control as well now. Pakwheeels doesn’t promote any car. It was just a fair comparison with our perspective of what we think. If we say that one car has a good resale, it doesn’t mean we’re promoting it!
I’ve also mentioned about Stonic’s adorable and more practical interior for your information, if it was bias for Yaris, we wouldn’t mention it and we’ve included many other features that the Stonic offers but the Yaris doesn’t.
If this was a biased comparison, we would have only mentioned the features that both the Yaris and the Stonic have in common or the Stonic doesn’t.
It’s called sales completion. Kia and other companies know that what is right way to sle there cars in Pakistan. So it is only trick to mold the people of Pakistan.
Why they don’t decrease the price of kia picanto…..its huge monopoly and cheating but it’s their RIGHT
All new cars available in Pakistan are garbage for a gold price. Reasonable price tag for all cars available is Rs. 2.5 million to 3 million instead of 4.5 million to 5 million. Due to their sky high prices their sales has crashed to zero and no one is buying these sooner.
There might be some information which seems incorrect for Yaris ATIV 1.3.
1- It does not have digital climate control instead manual single zone
2- Yaris 1.3 does not offer Android Infotainment but a simple system with no touch screen.
3- It also does not have six speakers.
Few information is coming from ATIV X 1.5
@Anonymous
Thanks for informing the issues, I’ve updated the article and updated the climate control, speakers and and infotainment information of the Yaris
@Captain
What do you mean, investor jump in ?
If you think it is the end of Stonic, thus Kia will launch another model as subtitute ?
Is it worthy to buy stonic and what about the parts availibity in future and what about warranty? Or i should go with yaris cuz it’s toyota less facilities but it’s from decades
