In a great example of helping others, an old man has given free petrol to the people who cannot afford it. It is pertinent to mention that the current petrol price is at Rs. 234, which is highest ever in Pakistan. And this record-high rate means not every one can afford it.

In a video, the old man can be seen at a petrol pump with a paper and paying the bill of petrol. In the same video, a bike rider can be heard, sharing the whole story. “This uncle is giving the free petrol up to Rs. 700,” the rider said. As per information, he paid the bill for 90 people which includes mostly rickshaw drivers and bike riders.

The people are praising this deed by him and hail him for this gesture and we agree with social media. Currently, Pakistan is facing record-high inflation majorly due to very expensive fuel. Driving own car and even bike became quite difficult for the people.

In last one month, the government has increased the petrol price by Rs. 84 per liter and masses are feeling the heat.

Last Petrol Price Increase

Last week, the government dropped another petrol bomb at midnight. Making the announcement, federal Minister Miftah Ismail said that the government is not in condition to bear the burden of subsidies. “We are left with no choice but to shift some burden on masses,” he added.

After the fresh hike, the petrol now costs Rs233.89 per litre – a new record. Similarly, new prices of diesel, Kerosene oil and light diesel are Rs263.31, Rs211.89 and Rs207.47 respectively. New petrol prices were implemented from June 16, 2022.

Currently, the government is offering zero subsidy after the last hike in petrol prices. Meanwhile, General Sales Tax (GST) and Petroleum Levy (PL) are also zero on all petroleum products. And reports are suggesting that prices will further go up, once government will impose these taxes.
