Zille’s Mehru is Restored But How Much it Cost?
You all have been following the restoration journey of Zille’s Suzuki Mehran, aka Mehru. Over the course of the last few weeks, we regularly gave you updates. We showed you how its exterior was polished, the engine issues were resolved, the suspension was renewed, and the interior glowed up. It took us some time, but we did it, and the wait was totally worth it.
At the start, we thought the restoration would not be difficult, especially concerning expenditure, but it proved to be the opposite. Not only it took a considerable time, but also the budget went overboard considerably. This shows how expensive the spare parts have become, even for a car like Mehran. In the last couple of years, the prices have almost doubled, but still, it was a great experience for us, and we will do it again.
Cost of Suzuki Mehran Restoration
The biggest question PakWheelers have asked us is about the cost for the whole project. So, here is a breakdown of all the expenses for restoring our beloved Mehru.
Mechanical
The total mechanical expense on Mehru is Rs. 3,7000, including clutch + pressure plate set, timing belt, suspension repairing, brake assembly repairing, and lathe work.
Exterior & Interior
It cost us a total of Rs. 44,000 for the interior and exterior restoration. This includes roof fitting, floor cleaning + fitting, trunk paint, compound polish, rims paint, seat poshish, and denting.

PakWheels Auto Store Products
Along with that, Rs. 107,000 were spent on the products from PakWheels Auto store. We ordered tyres, a dashboard, front and rear lights, front grille, and roof liner. In total, it cost us Rs. 188,000 on complete restoration, which was obviously above the earlier estimate, but this is kind of normal in restoration projects.
