Today we present to you another exciting episode of the owner review series. This time we have got a 2003 Suzuki Alto kept in tremendous condition. In this review, the owner shares his experience with this car and briefs us about the upgrades it has gone through. This is the 3rd generation Alto which originally came with a 998 cc engine, however, this car’s engine is swapped with a K6A 658 cc engine. This Alto has been kept with extreme care and remains in pretty good shape after 20 years on the roads.

Acquisition

The owner was previously driving the Adam Revo; he sold that due to it being very rare in Pakistan and with the fear of parts becoming obsolete. He then found this Alto, which was in very good shape and was recently upgraded mechanically, making it very practical for inter-city travel.

Features

In contrast to the features offered in the local Alto, this car has been fitted with many features that are not present in the stock model. Some of which include an electronic power steering, a well-lit up speedometer with rpm dial, a 660cc K6A engine, and an automatic transmission, which, according to the owner, is very smooth. The owner has also painted the center panels silver, which gives the interior a fresh look, and has installed leather seats and steering covers.

Fuel Average

The 1000cc Alto was not very impressive in terms of fuel average and gave roughly 10 to 12 km/l even with manual transmission. According to the owner, this car’s average is exemplary, with 16 to 17 km/l within city easily. This might be due to the swapped 660cc engine, which is predominantly aimed at fuel efficiency.

Spare Parts

As per the owner, the primary reason for buying this car was the availability of spare parts. Being in production for so long, this generation of Alto’s spare parts are widely available across Pakistan at very reasonable prices. The owner has also bought retractable mirrors for it from Peshawar, that too at a very nominal price.
