We all know Changan’s new SUV is coming to town. After testing three different models, the company has brought it down to one. We first saw the sketches of Changan’s upcoming SUV and guessed it was the Oshan X7 Plus. Later, the car’s leaked pictures solidified our guesses. And now, for the first time, the X7 Plus has been spotted on the roads of Karachi.
Here are the two Changan Oshan X7 Plus units wrapped beautifully, saying “HELLO, FUTURE.”
Specs & Features
Changan Pakistan has not announced the official specs and features of the upcoming SUV. But, we are expecting the locally assembled X7 Plus to have similar features as the international model.
Changan Oshan X7 Plus, as the name suggests, is the latest version of the X7 SUV. It comes with Changan’s newest Blue Whale 1.5L turbocharged engine, producing 178 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. Changan claims that the SUV’s fuel efficiency is as good as a sedan – averaging about 14 km/L.
X7 Plus comes as a 5-seater SUV in China. However, Pakistan may also get an exclusive 7-seater version. If that happens, it will be the only vehicle with a customizable seating configuration.
Competition
Changan’s upcoming SUV will go head-to-head with Toyota Fortuner and Kia Sorento.
Official Launch
According to our sources, Changan will launch the Oshan X7 Plus in the first quarter of 2022. That means the official launch is just a month away.
The exciting thing about this X7 Plus’ launch is that this will be the first-ever ‘global launch’ for any vehicle in Pakistan. That means Pakistan will be the first country to get this Changan SUV outside its home market China. Something that has never happened before.
