Honda HR-V VTi S Vs. Honda Civic RS – A Comparison
The Japanese carmaker “Honda Atlas” in the country, has come up with its first crossover SUV dubbed “HR-V.” The carmaker offers two car variants, i.e., VTi and VTi-S. Adding more competition to the SUV market, the newly launched HR-V VTi-S, the top variant of the car, is up against its counterpart Civic RS.
Here is the specs and features comparison of the Honda HR-V VTi S and Honda Civic RS. Both vehicles are B-segment sedan variants.
Dimensions
Honda HR-V VTi-S is 171 inches long, 71 inches wide, and 63 inches high. While Civic RS is 184 inches long, 71 inches wide, and 56 inches high. So, Honda’s sedan is longer than VTi-S but lags in height.
Power & Transmission
Honda HR-V VTi-S is powered with a 1500cc naturally aspirated engine producing 119hp and 145 Nm of torque against a 1500cc turbocharged engine carrying the capacity to produce 176 horsepower and 220 torque. Both are mated with CVT transmission. Here again, Civic beats the newly unveiled SUV in terms of power.
Exterior
Highlighting the front fascia, VTi-S comes with LED front and rear lights, while Civic RS offers Halogen Projection Auto Headlights, LED DRLS, LED Tail Lights, Halogen Fog Lamps (Standard), and LED Foglamps (Orient).
Coming to side profiles, both crossovers are provided with 17-inch alloy wheels. Moreover, both cars come with smart keyless entry and push-start options.
Interior
Coming inside the cabin, the HR-V flaunts 4.2 inches MID display against 7″ TFT Display in Civic RS. Comparing the infotainment system, Honda’s new entrant is equipped with a 9-inch screen with Android and Apple CarPlay multimedia compared to the 7-inch TFT display in Civic RS.
Furthermore, dual-zone climate control is in both HR-V and Civic RS. However, HR-V comes with rear AC vents, which are not offered in Honda’s Sedan. Both vehicles carry driver + passenger manual seat adjustment options.
The additional features in Civic RS are a panoramic sunroof, Honda sensing and Cruise control.
Safety Features
Moving to safety features, Civic RS surpassed HR-V VTi-S. The additional features in the latter are adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keep assist (LKA), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)
Meanwhile, VTi-S has 4 airbags against 2 in Civic RS.
Price
The price of the newly launched Honda HR-V Rs. 6,199,000, compared to Rs 7,549,000, meaning HR-V VTi-S is a bit lower in price.
