Pakistani Bikers Reach Saudi Arabia By Road For Umrah

A group of 25 Pakistani bikers had embarked on a journey to perform umrah by getting to Saudi Arabia by road on their bikes, and yesterday, they succeeded in their mission. The bikers covered a distance of more than 10,000 kilometers to reach Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The convoy was received by Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ameer Khurram Rathore, along with other officials who greeted the bikers and welcomed them. The Pakistan embassy also hosted a reception in honor of the group and awarded them a shield to commend their extraordinary feat.

 The Pakistani bikers had departed from Lahore on January 6th, 2023, with the aim to reach Makkah on their bikes and perform umrah there. The main goal of this adventure was to promote religious tourism. They planned to cover a distance of more than 14,000 kilometers to visit Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq and to visit the main religious, cultural, and tourist attractions in these countries.

There were members of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) present at Qaddafi Stadium, along with representatives of Iran’s Khana Farhang (cultural center), to see off the group of Pakistani bikers. On Saturday, the group had reached Abu Dhabi, where they were welcomed and hosted by the Pakistan embassy. The embassy also gave a lunch party in honor of these bikers.

One of the many goals of this convoy was to promote peace, brotherhood, and friendship among people. The group’s leader, Mukarram Tareen, said that with this mission, they want to convey a favorable image of Pakistan, its rich cultural legacy, and the kind hospitality of the Pakistani people.

The bikers are scheduled to return to Lahore, Pakistan, after a 15-day stay in Makka.
