Suzuki Sales Plunge Amid Production Problems

Pak Suzuki Motors has recently witnessed a significant decline in its sales due to production issues. According to reports, Suzuki sales have hit an all-time low, largely because of the shortage of production parts and rising raw material costs.

According to the most recent update from the reliable and consistent autojournal, Pak Suzuki sold fewer than 1,000 units in February. This is the automaker’s worst performance since the nationwide COVID-19 lockdowns in April 2020, which resulted in zero production and sales.

Pak Suzuki sold 2,940 vehicles in January, which is already a 74% decrease in monthly sales. The massive drop was caused by poor sales of the Suzuki Alto, which fell from 6,898 units in December 2022 to 44 units in January 2023.

The total amount of units sold in February will most likely range from the high tens or low hundreds. We’ll know for certain once official figures from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) arrive.

Suzuki sales in Pakistan have consistently remained among the highest in the country. However, the company’s recent sales decline has left it barely able to preserve its position in the extremely competitive automobile industry. Many people were surprised, considering the monopoly of Suzuki vehicles in the country.

The company has cited the issues regarding production parts as the main problem behind the decline in Suzuki sales. The pandemic caused major supply chain issues, which led to difficulty in obtaining necessary auto parts. Consequently, the company has been facing a shortage of raw materials and production parts.

On top of that, global inflation has also played its part in adding to the problems. The prices of raw materials have skyrocketed, which has made it difficult for the company to access all the required materials. This inflation has also forced the company to increase its car prices, resulting in a drop in sales.
