Cutting-Edge Battery Technology
At the heart of FERN’s exceptional performance lies its cutting-edge 350 V battery. This state-of-the-art power source ensures efficient and sustainable performance, propelling the car with remarkable speed and agility. While it demands a minimum of 2 hours for a full charge, the battery’s capacity provides FERN with ample power to tackle the intense demands of racing competitions. By prioritizing electric propulsion, the FERN team aligns with the global shift toward clean and sustainable transportation solutions.
The Dedication and Collaboration of the Team
The journey to bring FERN to life has been a testament to the dedication and collaboration of a remarkable team. Led by faculty adviser Bilal Muhammad Khan, this group of 14 individuals worked tirelessly to turn their vision into reality. What makes this team truly special is the equal representation of talent and skill, with 7 female students and 7 male students playing integral roles in the car’s development. Additionally, 25 trainees from the mechanical and electrical departments of the university actively contributed to the project, making FERN a true embodiment of teamwork and shared knowledge.
Recognition and Support
During the unveiling event, Commandant Tauqeer Ahmed Khawaja took the opportunity to commend the team’s hard work and dedication. In his address, he specifically highlighted the contributions of the female team members, emphasizing the importance of gender inclusivity in engineering. This recognition reinforces the college’s commitment to fostering an environment where all individuals have equal opportunities to showcase their skills and abilities. Ali Kashif, the Team Manager, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the team’s parents for their unwavering support, acknowledging the crucial role they played in the team’s success.
Building on Past Achievements
The students from Pakistan Navy Engineering College, NUST, have a rich history of showcasing their engineering prowess. Back in 2012, a previous team from the college unveiled a Formula Car in Germany, demonstrating their commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers. While their desired outcome was not achieved at that time, the FERN team is now receiving widespread well-wishes and support for their upcoming competition. Their dedication, resilience, and passion for innovation have laid a strong foundation for FERN’s success in the Formula Student competition.
