If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re about to launch into space, the Deepal S05 might just be the car for you. Inspired by a spacecraft and designed by Klaus Zyciora, former Chief Designer of the Volkswagen Group, this crossover SUV looks like something straight out of Back to the Future. The design was so impressive, it bagged the 2025 iF Design Award.
And yes, it’s not some old discarded model — this is a global 2025 launch, and Pakistan is getting the latest generation straight away. Finally!
Powertrain & Range – Hybrid, But Smarter
The Deepal S05 is a range-extender hybrid SUV — technically a REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle). It’s not a regular hybrid or EV retrofit. It’s built from the ground up on the EPA platform, specifically made for EVs.
It runs primarily on a 27.2 kWh battery, while a petrol engine acts as a generator. This combination delivers an impressive 215 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.
Here’s the stunner: with a full tank and full charge, the claimed range is 1,234 km. That’s more than most petrol cars.
Sleek Exterior – Space Vibes All Around
At first glance, the Deepal S05 looks futuristic. From its piano black and machined 18-inch alloy wheels to the concealed motorized door handles, it oozes modern style.
The headlights and DRLs are spaceship-inspired, and the rear roof spoiler with brake lights adds to the sporty silhouette. Its width is greater than most C-segment SUVs like Sportage and Haval, and the wheelbase is the longest in the segment, offering better cabin space.
It also features frameless windows, pillarless glass, and a clean, aerodynamic design.
Interior – Like Sitting in a Cockpit
Step inside, and it genuinely feels like a spaceship cockpit. The dashboard is minimalist, with no physical buttons at all. Everything is controlled via the main screen or voice commands.
It has a massive 15.4-inch Sunflower Infotainment Screen that turns toward the driver automatically. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, the system is fast and responsive. There’s no instrument cluster — all vehicle data is either on the HUD (Heads-Up Display) or the main infotainment screen.

The AC is dual-zone climate control, and both front seats are ventilated. Driver fatigue sensors, auto-dimming mirrors, 360° camera, blind-spot monitor, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and Level 2 ADAS features are all included.
And here’s a cherry on top — a remote straight-in and out feature, letting the car park or unpark itself in tight spots without a driver inside.
Cabin Space & Comfort – Best in Class
Thanks to its extended wheelbase, the Deepal S05 has an incredibly roomy cabin. Even with the front seat pushed fully back, there’s loads of legroom in the rear.

The Deepal S05 is a bold step forward. For years, Pakistan has only received older, used models, but this time, it’s different. This SUV is a fresh global release, coming directly in its latest form.
It’s futuristic, tech-loaded, comfortable, and powerful — all in one package. Whether it performs well in the local market remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say this is one of the most advanced SUVs Pakistan has seen.
