Pakistan’s automotive market is raving with hybrids and SUVs. Recently, Toyota launched its first hybrid in Pakistan with the banner of Corolla Cross, which also boasts the tag of 50% made-in-Pakistan SUV. But how does this sporty car work against the Haval H6? What is its fuel economy? There are many more questions we will answer in this blog. So, let’s give you insight into these two models compared to each other.

Haval H6 Vs. Toyota Corolla Cross – Overview

Haval is a Chinese automaker and has been enjoying the honor of bringing the first hybrid SUV to Pakistan, while Toyota is a Japanese manufacturer that needs no introduction. Corolla Cross and H6 are both C-category vehicles. However, Cross is a compact SUV, while H6 is a plus-size crossover with equivalent ground clearance.

Engine and Fuel Economy

Cross comes with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine that works in parallel with hybrid technology. In contrast, the H6 comes with a 1.5 Litre Turbo charge engine. Both cars exhibit efficient hybrid technology, providing 18 to 19 Km/L fuel economy within the city and 14 Km/L on long routes.

Interior

H6 and Cross, both SUVs, give you instant premium vibes as you get in the car; however, they differ slightly in options. Where H6 gives you a dual-tone interior with 8-way seat adjustability accommodating heating, ventilation, and lumbar support in both passenger and driver seats, the Cross gives Terra Rossa seats with only 6-way adjustability.

Moving on to the infotainment system, Cross provides Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless connectivity and 360 sonars, while H6 also provides Android Auto and CarPlay with Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines. Also, the H6 comes with an electronic hand brake and auto hold button, whereas both options are missing in the Toyota Cross.

Exterior

Both the crossovers feature beautiful designs packed with emblems. However, Haval’s front grille looks like a class apart. H6 comes with 19-inch multi-spoke rims in piano black with Hankook tires, while Cross is a little disappointing with old 17-inch tires from General. Both SUVs come with a shark antenna and diffusers at the rear. H6 comes with high-mounted rocket lamps while comes with a high-mounted brake light.

Moreover, the H6 comes with a panoramic sunroof, while the Toyota Cross comes with a moon roof.

Safety Features

Toyota Cross loses the game here, featuring basic Cruise Control only. In contrast, Haval H6 is packed with ADAS features of Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Front Collision Assist, Emergency Braking, Rear Collision, and Auto Park Assist.

Price Comparison

Toyota Cross and Haval H6 come with a price difference of 20%. H6 costs around PKR 11,800,000 lacs, while Cross costs around PKR 9,900,000.

Both these SUVs have their own charm and aura, and we hope this comparison answers all of your queries. To read more interesting reviews, visit PakWheels’ official website.

“Terra Rossa” simply means “Red Earth”. Its a color… (Terra = Earth, Rossa = Red)
Terra Rossa seats = Emperor’s new clothes = Excellent marketing.

Sentence incomplete: “Cross comes with a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine that works in parallel with hybrid technology. In contrast, the H6 comes with a 1.5 Liter Turbo charge engine” – Which also works in parallel with hybrid technology.

Haval H6 Hybrid has a combined HP of 240 HP and the Corolla Cross has a combined HP of 120HP. If both vehicles provide around 18KM/L to 19KM/L within city and around 14 KM/L on the highway, doesn’t that make the Haval H6 HEV the better choice. Its giving the same fuel economy with more/better power.
And if we see the picture and compare the sizes, the haval is bigger as well.

The cross comes with “360 sonars”. what is that? Do we get 360 people who are gold-smiths/gold-artists or is it something else? 🤣 But seriously, aren’t we nitpicking with names? The Haval comes with full ADAS features, we know its sensors and features are much more sophisticated/advanced than the Cross (as this article itself alludes to).

And comparing interiors, we can clearly which one is better.

So the simple take away is:
The Cross is the more popular, more accepted but inferior choice.
The Haval H6 HEV is the newer, not as widely accepted, but much better choice.
