BYD Sealion 6 PHEV With 1100 Kilometers Range – First Look Review
After reviewing Seal, Atto 3, this is BYD Sealion 6 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), a mid-level SUV with a strong potential to compete with the Haval H6. It is an HEV that is expected to launch in Pakistan in the forthcoming months. Like other cars from BYD are inspired by marine life, the Sealion also draws inspiration from the synonymous animal. Let’s check out its features and specifications.
Engine and Performance
This SUV not only looks impressive but also has impressive performance figures too. With a 1.5 litre, in-line 4 cylinder engine it is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. It comes with an 18.3 kwh motor coupled with a gasoline fuel tank which provides a combined average of 1100 km. Quite sufficient to go from Lahore to Karachi in a single fuel tank. Its electric range is 100km.
Aggressive Exterior
Besides its inspiration from ocean animals, it also resembles Porsche Macan and Cayan. Its aggressive front boasts LED dot matrix headlamps and metal fins that add a bold character to its fascia. The side profile comes with canards over 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, LED side mirrors, and a character line, which further lifts its muscular look.
Moving on to the rear profile, dotted LED taillights are the most beautiful lamps, adding elegance and uniqueness. There is a silver diffuser, fog lights, and a roof spoiler with continuous running lamps, making its exterior attractive among all other SUVs. Badging of the brand and model is displayed with its DM-I technology, which stands for Dual Model Intelligence ( a smooth shift between electric and hybrid modes).
Spectacular Interior
The inner design is cohesive, with the use of premium materials like leather, plastic, and blue lining, and the AC grills look sporty. Seat cushioning further adds luxury along with soft padding on doors. The Sealion 6 comes with
