December 2024 – Car Sales Increased By Massive 69% YoY

Continuing our monthly practice, again, we are here to provide you an update on the sales performance of local car assemblers for the preceding month.

YoY Sales

After observing a significant rise of 57% in November 2024, year-on-year sales observed another massive jump of 69% last month. As per Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) report, local car makers sold 9,820 units in December 2024 compared to 5,816 in corresponding period of last year. The reason behind this increase is slashed interest rates, launch of new variants and models in the local market.

MoM Sales

Coming to month-on-month sales, the report reveals that car sales witnessed a decrease of nominal 3%, selling 9,820 vehicles against 10,163 in November 2024.

Two & Three wheelers

Concerning motorcycle and three-wheeler sales, local bike makers witnessed a decrease of 2% last month, reaching 120,484 bikes in Nov ’24 compared to 118,091units in December 2024. Concerning year-on-year sales, it observed a jump of considerable 43%, selling 118,091 units in December contra 88,362 vehicles in corresponding period of last year.

United and Road Prince sold 11,724 and 1,821 units, respectively last month compared to 2,214 and 12,085 vehicles in November 2024.

Atlas Honda sales decreased by 0% last month, reaching 100,911 units last month against 100,588 units in November 2024. Meanwhile, Pak Suzuki went down by 2%, selling 1,870 bikes last month compared to 1,912 units in Nov ‘24. Meanwhile, Yamaha Pakistan witnessed a decrease of 1.86% selling 529 units in Dec’ 24 compared to 539 in November 2024.

Trucks & Buses

Sales of trucks and buses also decreased by a significant 41% last month selling 193 units compared to 328 in November 2024.

Company-Wise Sales Breakdown

Again, Toyota Pakistan’s sales decreased by 25%, selling 1,655 units last month compared to 2,194 vehicles in Nov ‘24.

However, Honda Atlas sales had no effect last month, selling 1,110 units compared to 1,112 units in November 2024.

Pak Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC) sales increased by 12%, selling 6,016 vehicles in December 2024 against 5,374 cars in Nov’ 24.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Nishat sales observed an increase of 27%, selling 918 units last month compared to 724 units in November 2024.

It is worth mentioning that sales numbers for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included in the report as they are not PAMA members.

Car-Wise Sales Breakdown

Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) sold 4,115 units of Alto, 322 units of Suzuki Cultus, 220 units of Suzuki Wagon R, 668 units of Suzuki Swift, 117 units of Suzuki Bolan, 113 of Suzuki Every and 461 units of Suzuki Ravi.

Toyota Indus sold 1,156 units of Corolla, Yaris, and 499 units of Fortuner and Hilux.

Honda Atlas sold 970 units of City and Civic, and 140 units of BR-V and HR-V.

Hyundai Nishat sold 145 units of Elantra, 38 units of Sonata, 220 units of Porter, and 319 units of Tucson.
