Child Born After Yamaha & Suzuki Marriage – A Review
Suzuki and Yamaha are surely the leading names in the Pakistani bike market, but recently, we got our hands on the most interesting build featuring a combination of both. Let’s unroll the details of this modded bike.
Make and Model
Previously, it was a 2017 YBR G, and the owner intended to modify it with Suzuki kits. Modifications are always based on some backstories. The owner shared that he already has a GS150 at home and wished to do something unique. For modification purposes, Yamaha is always the least chosen brand, so he opted for modification.
His intention was to make it a decent daily-driven bike with a sporty touch without compromising comfort, reliability, and braking abilities.
Modification
When its first owner purchased it from PakWheels’ listings, it was a low-mileage bike. Having run only 30,000 km, it was already in good shape. Its second owner went on to replace its tank from GS150, changing the original shocks and fittings. Cutting its long tail and improving the seat positioning, including the seat cover, were also included.
While extending the original arm by 4 inches, the rear and front tire profiles were also modified by converting them into tubeless tires. The back tire was from FT20 Trail 120/19/18, and the front tire was from Diamond 100/19/18, both costing 16k and 6k, respectively.
The rider lowered the bike but didn’t prefer a dead drop position, choosing ergonomics over styling. The engine was only tweaked by changing the intake, improving pick by 10%, and decreasing fuel economy.
Maintenance
When purchased, this motorcycle’s average fuel consumption was 40 to 45 km/l. Now, it gives around 30 to 35 km/k. Maintenance, including engine oil change and tuning, costs Rs. 3,000, which sounds quite reasonable.
Costing
When purchased, this bike cost Rs. 235,000, whereas the total expenditure on modification, including tires, was Rs. 60 to 70,000. So, if you are looking to upgrade your daily commuter by adding style and comfort, there are numerous options available in all the metropolitan cities of Pakistan.
