Express News just received a copy of the Finance Bill of the new budget for 2014-15 and according to their first highlights from the report run on their news channel, 17 percent sales tax imposed on CNG. While 10 percent Federal Excise Duty on locally made 1800cc and above cars is proposed to be taken back, meaning Toyota Fortuner may get cheaper. Perhaps the local automakers are lobbying with the government in full swing.
Moreover, the budget proposes an additional tax of 10,000 rupees on airline passengers of first and business class.
General Sales Tax (GST) on Tractors is proposed to be reduced from 16 percent to 10 percent.
These propositions would be implemented after approval by the parliament. The correspondent of Express News say that government is going to put forth the bill in the parliament for discussion within two days and to get it approved.

Wrong. The additional taxation was placed on cars above 1800 CC. Corolla Altis is 1798 and Civic is 1799 thus they did not receive the impact neither will they benefit from any proposed relief.
How much tax reduce on above 1500cc vehicles
Honda Civic is 1798, Toyota Corolla is 1799, Toyota Prius is 1798, so they will not be affected in any sense. Plus their is no relief, 10 percent with holding tax imposed on new car's registration, So no worries, nothing is going to happen, Relax 🙂

Only about 10% of the population can afford cars of more than 1800CC so this relief is only for those people who basically don't need any relief as they have lots of money to spend.
u know cars are so much cheaper in india and also indias have care makers of the world making all kinds of cars in india , indian P.M> sold tea at train stations and still has no money , while paki nawaz who is a avid muslim has business in london/saudia and also has a suagr mill in india , pakis people and govt are corrupt beyond repair hence the world rushes to india and world puts travel restrictions on pakistan, even african countries have passed pakistan in standard of living . shamefull . pls tell ur govt to open paki car market and lower prices or soon afhganistan will have cheaper and better cars then pak

The advance taxation on vehicle registration has been introduced on used imported vehicles while it remains the same for new local vehicles.
Cars are the same price idiot. Indian rupee is 2x the value of pkr. Converted to a intermediate currency its the same. And pakistan has the lowest car import tax anywhere in our region, india has about 200% tax and we only have 30-40
