Eid al Azha-The Eid where your vehicle is your best friend

1 1,123

On any other day, a bakra on a bike would be an odd sight but not on Bari Eid! Eid al Azha is an auspicious occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide; its most important element is Qurbani. Sacrificing an animal in Allah’s name completes this eid’s essence and allows Muslims to enjoy eating meat with their loved ones.

But, sacrificing an animal requires several essential steps, and almost all of those steps need you to make the best out of your car or bike! Here are a few things you can do to make epic memories with your vehicle and Qurbani ka jaanwar on this Eid al Azha!

Going to the Mandi

One would think it is the easiest step, but it’s not! Deciding which market to go to, when to start visiting different markets and whose car or bike to take are some serious questions to answer. And if Eid dates fall during monsoon, then these discussions need to be done while drinking ice cold lemon soda in your best friend’s Mehru.

Getting everyone on the same page as to which mandi to start from and when to actually bring the animal home is difficult. In the end, the best solution is to divide and conquer. Pick a couple of markets of your choice, decide who goes where, and visit these markets separately on motorbikes. It saves fuel and time so that you can spend them both on lemon soda meetings!

Bakra on Bike Phase

So you’ve finally decided which animal to buy and sealed the deal. So now comes the crucial step of bringing that animal home! The sight of bulls standing in the back of pick-ups and bakras sitting on a bike’s fuel tank becomes common.

If you buy more than one animal, you need to have multiple transportation options available. What if the shehzore you booked bailed out on you? What if you end up buying more animals than you had planned? Well, in situations like this, your jigri yaar should be tayyar! Get your friend’s bike, pick up your bakra, and cruise through the traffic towards your home. Or, you could cram your dumba on your friend’s car backseat. But don’t forget to help them clean up their vehicle afterward. Your friend won’t appreciate that particular “fragrance” in his car while he takes his date out on Eid day!

Enjoying Evening Walks on Your Car

Taking your bakra or dumba out for a walk before eid days is a fun activity that many people look forward to. The experience is even more fun with friends when you are riding a bike while your bakra or dumba walks beside you with its leash in your hand.

It is also a great way to show off your beautiful Qurbani ka jaanwar! You can let the whole neighborhood look enviously at your jaanwar as it cruises with you in your car or walks beside your vehicle slowly.

It also gives other drivers and bike riders to stop and ask you, “bhai, kitnay ka liya?” Don’t we all love when that happens?

Post-Qurbani Shenanigans

This part gets a bit sad because after making all those memories with your Qurbani ka jaanwar, it is no longer in the picture. Instead, your car has Qurbani ka gosht that needs to be delivered to several places. Make sure you have an icebox or a system to keep the meat cool if you have to deliver it to far-off places during this monsoon season.

Other steps include taking the animal skins wherever you want to donate or dispose of them in your car or bike. The fun part starts when you get to bring barbeque skewers on your vehicle to your friends’ place to end the occasion on a hot and spicy barbeque night!
