Expected Reduced Prices of 1001cc to 2000cc Cars

The upcoming Auto Development Policy (ADP 2021-2026) has become the talk of the town. We are hearing all sorts of rumours and speculations. Many are saying that the new auto policy will be the greatest to date. 850cc, 1000cc, 2000cc, and above, all cars will get cheaper, which is terrific news. 

The 1001-2000cc segment is the cream of the entire car lineup in Pakistan. From Cultus to Sportage, most cars fall into this category. It is also the most diverse segment that covers hatchbacks, sedans, and even crossovers. That is why everyone wants to know what is happening to this category in the new auto policy. Here’s all the tea.

Price Reduction of 1001cc to 2000cc Cars

We are expecting the new auto policy to suggest a 2.5% decrease in the Federal Excise Duty (FED) across the board. That will make the FED on 1001cc to 2000cc cars come down to 2.5% from 5%, and reduce the ex-factory prices of these cars by 2.381%. 

1300cc Cars

The 1300cc car category has three locally produced sedans (Yaris,  Saga, and Alsvin) and two hatchbacks (Swift and FAW V2).

By our formula, the four 1.3L variants of Yaris sedans will get a price decline of Rs. 65,902, Rs. 62,332, Rs. 63,998, and Rs. 59,714 (as listed below).

The prices of three variants of Proton Saga might come down by Rs. 52,955, Rs. 50,575, and Rs. 47,005 (as listed below).

The prices of both variants of Changan Alsvin are expected to get a cut of Rs. 52,336 and Rs. 58,286.

FAW V2 will get a price relief of Rs. 38,310. The prices of two variants of Suzuki Swift might come down by Rs. 48,314 and Rs. 52,598.

Here are the detailed price calculations. 

1500cc & 1600cc Cars

There are three sedans (Yaris, Alsvin, and Civic) and four SUVs (BR-V, Glory 580, 580 Pro, and Proton X70) with 1500cc engines.

Our guess is the price of the two 1.5L Yaris variants will go down by Rs. 71,376 and Rs. 67,330. The price of the 1.5L Alsvin variant will fall by Rs. 63,070. The cost of two 1.5L Civic Turbo variants will decrease by Rs. 111,836 and Rs. 105,886.

Among the three 1500cc SUVs, the prices of three variants of Honda BR-V are expected to come down by Rs. 78,992, Rs. 75,184, and Rs. 82,800. The cost of two variants of DFSK Glory 580 might decrease by Rs. 102,316 and Rs. 96,366. The price of DFSK Glory 580 Pro might fall by Rs. 111,836. The price of two variants of Proton X70 will decline by Rs. 111,622 and Rs. 118,762

There’s only one locally produced 1600cc car in Pakistan, Corolla Altis X, and the prices of its two variants are expected to fall by Rs. 80,182 and Rs. 76,612.

1800cc Cars

The 1800cc category has the two heartthrob sedans of Pakistan (Corolla and Civic) and one SUV (Glory 580).

The prices of four 1.8L variants of Corolla Altis might go down by Rs. 94,700, Rs. 95,176, Rs. 84,466, and Rs. 88,036. The prices of two 1.8L variants of Civic are expected to fall by Rs. 88,750 and Rs. 94,700.

The price of 1.8L variant of DFSK Glory 580 might decrease by Rs. 105,886.

2000cc Cars

Lastly, we have one sedan (Hyundai Elantra) and two SUVs (KIA Sportage and Hyundai Tucson) in the 2000cc category.

According to our prediction, Elantra might get a price relief of Rs. 96,366,. The prices two 2.0L variants of Tucson are expected to come down by Rs. 133,256 and Rs. 121,356. The prices of two variants of Sportage will possibly decrease by Rs. 128,496 and Rs. 116,596
