FINALLY – Karachi Green Line is Open For People
And the wait is finally over, as Karachi mass transit Green Line bus service is opened for people of Karachi. Earlier, we told you that the buses are on track. But at that time, it was a test run, and now masses can use it.
Green Line Route, Ticket System
There are 80 buses on the route from Numaish to Surjani Town, and the other way around from 7 am to 10 pm. There are two ways to pay the fare. The first one is to go to the ticketing booth and buy Rs. 55 worth of ticket whether you travel to the next station or to all 22 stations. The second one is more economical, and that is to buy Rs. 100 card, which can be recharged. As you exit a station, the machine will deduct the fare from the card per your traveling kilometer.
Later, there will be more options for buying tickets.
As per the authorities, the commuters will soon have the option of buying tickets from the vending machines. These machines will be functional within a week or so. Meanwhile, the names of the stations are:

Celebrating the occasion, PTI minister Asad Umar tweeted that 20,646 citizens used the modern Green Line buses on the very first day of its normal commercial operation. “Work on finalizing the KCR project for approvals to invite private sector investors is also almost complete,” he further said.
