The government announced the New Auto Policy (2021-2016) on the 7th of July. Shortly after, the auto companies in Pakistan calculated the tax reductions of the new policy and reduced their car prices. Toyota took the lead, followed by Suzuki, Kia, Hyundai, Changan, and others. Proton Pakistan took more than a week to do the honors. Here are the revised prices of Proton Saga and Proton X70.
New Proton Prices
Proton Saga
The new auto policy has cut down the Federal Excise Duty (FED) to 2.5% from 5% and reduced the Additional Customs Duty (ACD) to 2% from 5% on cars 1001-2000cc. Under this tax relief, Proton has decreased the prices of all three Saga variants by Rs. 50,000.
The price of Proton Saga Standard Manual variant has come down to Rs. 1,925,000 from the old price of Rs. 1,975,000.
The price of Proton Saga Standard Automatic variant has come down to Rs. 2,075,000 from the old price of Rs. 2,125,000.
The price of Proton Saga Ace variant has come down to Rs. 2,175,000 from the old price of Rs. 2,225,000.
Proton X70
Under the same tax relief of 2.5% FED and 2% ACD, Proton has decreased the price of both variants of X70 by Rs. 100,000.
The new price of Proton X70 Premium FWD is Rs. 4,890,000 against the old price of Rs. 4,990,000.
The new price of Proton X70 Executive AWD is Rs. 4,590,000 against the old price of Rs. 4,690,000.
