Chinese automaker GAC Hytec has made history with its all-electric supercar, the SSR (formerly known as the Hyper SSR), officially setting a new world record for the fastest electric vehicle drift at 213.523 km/h, verified by Guinness World Records.
Professional driver Ye Zhicheng performed the record-breaking drift during a dedicated testing session. According to Guinness’s criteria, the vehicle must maintain a drift angle of at least 30° while exceeding 207 km/h over a minimum distance of 50 meters. The SSR not only met these standards, it exceeded them, surpassing the previous record of 207.996 km/h.

The SSR is offered in three high-performance variants, each showcasing the brand’s engineering prowess:
- Standard: ¥1.286 million (~US $176,000)
- Ultimate: ¥1.386 million (~US $190,000)

Initially introduced under the Hyper sub-brand in 2022, the model was rebranded as Hytec in 2024.
