Haval H6 HEV vs. Kia Sorento – A Comparison
In this second article comparing new entrant Haval H6 HEV, we will compare it with Kia Sorento 3.5 FWD. The salient specs and features of these vehicles will be compared in this article so that you can make an educated guess before buying either of them.
Dimensions
The H6 is 4653mm long, 1886mm wide, and 1734mm high compared to 1400mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1685mm in height of Sorento. It means the Haval H6 HEV is higher than its competitor but is less long and wider than its competitor.
Engine and Transmission
The H6 comes with a 1500cc hybrid engine, which produces 240hp and 530Nm of torque. In comparison, Sorento has a 3500 V6 petrol engine, generating 276hp and 336Nm of torque, meaning the former has lower horsepower but considerably higher torque than the latter.
If we see the transmission, HEV has DHT against an 8-speed automatic in Sorento. There are no driving modes in H6, while Sorento offers Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart driving modes.
Exterior
Both have LED headlights and taillights, while the H6 has 19-inch alloy wheels against 18-inch ones in Sorento. Then both offer panoramic sunroofs in them along with powered tailgates.
Interior
The first major difference between these two is seating capacity, as Sorento comes with 7 seats compared to 5 in H6. The electric driver seat in H6 is 6-way adjusted, and the passenger seat is 4-way adjustable. In comparison, both driver and passenger seats in Sorento are 2-way adjustable.
The MID display size in H6 is 10.25-inch against the 3.5-inch in Sorento. Coming to the infotainment touchscreen, H6 offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen compared to 7-inch one in Sorento. The number of speakers in H6 is 8, while Sorento comes with 6.
Both cars have a heated rearview mirror, air purifier, and wireless charger. The extra options in H6 are ventilated seats and atmosphere lights.
Safety
H6 comes with 6 airbags compared to 4 in Sorento, then the former has adaptive cruise control, while Sorento offers a simple one. Both offer Brake Assist (BA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). Meanwhile, the additional safety features in Haval H6 HEV are:

Price
Haval H6 HEV has been launched with the price tag of Rs. 9,749,00 while the current price of Kia Sorento is Rs. 8,500,000.
Kia Sorento V6 enine is the premium trim of Sorento and offered with more features, is also longer 4m80 (error in this article, read before posting) for a cheaper price, without forgetting the reliability and durability of V6 petrol engine.
And the AWD Sorento with a smaller engine a 2.4L 4 cylinder, more cheaper and better fuel efficiency Sorento entry level with the 2.4L engine.
Talking about fuel efficiency won’t it be better to compared the Haval with Sorento 2.4L ?
Oh! Wait they aren’t in the same segment, Haval is a compact SUV where Sorento is midsize.
As always comparing the uncomparable, but it put in spotlights what i’am saying, Haval is expensive and looting his customer.
Better buy a Sorento.
