Haval H6 is Getting A Facelift
HAVAL name is not new for us here in Pakistan. HAVAL is a subsidiary of Great Wall Motors ( GWM) of China AND primarily deals in Crossovers / Sports utility vehicles. The brand also has a CKD assembly line in Pakistan under the Sazgar Automobile Company. As of now, Haval Pakistan offers two models to choose from; Haval H6 and Jolion.
Haval H6
The C-segment H6 is currently in its third generation, which went into production in 2020. The 3rd generation H6 is based on GWM’s brand new LEMON platform, which is lighter, rigid, with improved safety & stronger performance with better fuel economy. Soon after its introduction, it became one of the largest-selling models for the Haval brand. In fact, it is also the most-sold model of crossover in China. Statically, in recent years around approximately 40% of total global Haval brand sales is courtesy of H6. The availability of impressive equipment, features, build quality & attractive pricing helped H6 stick to sales charts.
Although H6 is a well sought-after vehicle, it is still not in the first five best crossovers regarding sales, trailing behind models like Rav-4, CR-V, and Tiguan. Haval H6 has been in production for almost three years now, and the company wanted to give the model a mid-cycle makeover/ facelift to keep the model relevant in the market. In the Chinese domestic market, Haval H6 sales are also now trailing behind “SONG,” a model from rival BYD.
There were rumors regarding this development, but now Haval has officially revealed some limited photos of the upcoming facelift model. The available photos reflect just the frontal face of the makeover model, and we can see that the previously large chrome grill has been replaced with an all-new front. The LED headlights lens pattern is also new, although the profile of the light housing remains untouched. The facelift also gets a new bumper with large horizontal openings for airflow.
Expected Changes in Haval H6 Facelift
We don’t notice much difference on the side profile, but the lower portion of the doors looks slightly different in some pictures. No pictures are revealed for the backend, but there might be an overhaul with new taillights and redesigned hatch door, and the top-down official image shows some updates. As per very brief unconfirmed reports, the facelift will slightly increase in size, 58mm in length and 54mm in width.
The wheelbase will remain as before. These increments might be because of new exterior changes. These increments might be because of new exterior changes. There are no pictures of the interior, but we can expect some updates & that might not be significant and possibly some technological improvements. There are no details on mechanicals; it will likely be carried over from the pre-facelift model.
Haval will reveal the refreshed H6 model sometime later this year, first in China and subsequently in other markets. H6 is also assembled in Pakistan, and I don’t expect the facelift to arrive in Pakistan anytime soon. It’s very subjective, but we believe many readers and Haval followers will prefer the pre-facelift model to be more modern and have a better front appearance. So, what are your thoughts?
