Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) has issued a termination letter of the 3S dealership of Honda City Sales located near Kalma Chowk, Lahore with immediate effect for unknown reasons.
According to the details, the leading Japanese auto manufacturer in the country also issued a public notice in the interest of the general public and its valuable customers to inform about the cancellation of the 3S dealership license of Honda City Sales Lahore. The dealership is located at 75-B, Block L, Gulberg III, Ferozepur Road Lahore. The notice highlights that Honda City Sales is no more authorized to act and represent as a dealer on behalf of Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited. PakWheels reached out to the company to find answers as to why the company has taken this step but the license cancellation reason was regarded as company policy by their officials. However, according to the dealership itself, they had acquired a dealership of Hyundai Nishat Motors that resulted in the cancellation of their license by HACPL. The company policy doesn’t allow its dealership to operate another automaker’s dealership at the same time. Honda City Sales now operates Hyundai’s dealership named Hyundai Central Sales and it’s already taking booking orders of Hyundai cars. Have a look at the public notice of HACPL below:
What will happen to the pre-booked orders from Honda City Sales?
There are also questions circulating regarding the orders already booked by the dealership and how these cars will now be delivered to the customers. According to a representative of Honda Atlas, all the booked orders from Honda City Sales will be delivered to its customers through their choice of other dealers operating in the provincial capital. On the other hand, Honda City Sales is also of the view that the previously booked orders through its dealership have been distributed to other dealerships of Honda Atlas by the company itself. All these orders will be delivered to the respective customers as scheduled. Note here that there are 4 more dealerships of Honda Atlas in Lahore as under:
- Honda Fort
- Honda Gateway
- Honda Point
- Honda Township
Nonetheless, it will affect the company’s 3S dealership network in the provincial capital. On the other hand, Honda Atlas already had a forgettable last year as its sales went down drastically. The company sold just 24,321 units of its Honda Civic and City (combined) during 2019 which is quite low as per its standards of sales in Pakistan. Perhaps, they are still listed as the second most selling models in the country last year after Toyota Corolla with 40,512 units in the January-December 2019 period.
