We are here with rather interesting review as we will show you how a handicapped person can drive a normal car. We have Romail Raza with us, who has developed a local device to drive a car despite being disabled. Talking to PakWheels.com, he told us about the device and how he made it.
Making of the Device
Raza told us that he made this simple portable hand control system and it can be installed in any auto car. “You can install it in within couple of minutes,” he said, adding that he got the idea from another imported device.
“That imported device is quite expensive so everyone cannot afford it, so I made this with the help of pictures, and welders,” he shared. The device has two roads, two clamps which you fix on race and brake pedals and then control it with your hand very conveniently. “It is a portable device and can be used in any car,” he said.
He told us that he had driven a car to Babusar Top with the help of this device which shows how easy it is to use. “I have been using it for last 7-8 years both within the city and on long routes,” he told us.
Benefit for Disables
Raza told us that a large number of disable people stay in their houses due to lack of options, but this device will help them in driving car and decrease the dependency on others.
How to Get License
He also shared that how a disable person can get a driving license in Punjab. “There is a different category for people like us, called Invalid Carriage and any disable person can get license under it,” he said.
Raza complaint about the lack of vehicle choices for handicapped people in Pakistan. “The government has announced scheme for us but the process is so long and difficult that no one of us can acquire a car through it,” he said.
