27 People, 1 Rickshaw – Is this a record???
If you think an auto-rickshaw can only accommodate 3-5 people, this story will prove you wrong! An auto-rickshaw in Uttar Pradesh, India, was stopped by the police for overspeeding. Little did the police know that they were in for a huge surprise.
The over-stuffed rickshaw took the police by surprise when they tried to count how many people were riding it. A total of 27 people, including children and older people, came out of the rickshaw one after the other. The video of the police officer counting the passengers went viral on Twitter.

In the video, the passengers get off the rickshaw one by one, and the police officer tries to keep count. According to news outlets, the rickshaw was flagged by the police for overspeeding, but the driver refused to stop. It was tracked down by the police, who stopped it forcefully and noticed the unusual number of passengers. An Indian journalist Piyush Rai had originally shared the video. The video has since been viewed by more than 30,000 people and has received mixed reactions from the Twitteratis.
Some users assume this could be some kind of a world record, while others think it reflects the issue of over-population and poor transportation in the state of Utter Pradesh. A lot of people also hailed the rickshaw driver and manufacturer for making this kind of unique feat possible.
Auto-rickshaws are a popular and affordable means of transportation in India and Pakistan. Due to their small size, ability to cut through small spaces, and fuel efficiency, rickshaws are preferred over taxis in both countries.

Wow, six or seven adults, the rest of the passengers are kids, in a rickshaw and even a Suzuki Bolan can only accommodate 15 people at the most. The driver must be lauded on his skills relating to space management.
