Hyundai-Nishat Motors launches Santa Fe – Check out the specs & price

After much wait, Hyundai-Nishat Motors has finally launched an SUV, Sante Fe, in Pakistan on 23-2-2019 at the launching ceremony of its digital showroom at the Emporium Mall, Lahore.

Hyundai Santa Fe comes equipped with 2.4 MPI Atkinson Cycle, Gasoline engine coupled with 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters that makes 170 hp at 6,000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The newly launched SUV is all-wheel drive and the company has introduced only one variant of the car in the local market. 

The dimensions of the vehicle are:

Length: 4470 mm

Width: 1890 mm

Height: 1705 mm and the wheelbase is 2765.

The vehicle has a muscular front fascia and premium class interior with all the modern features. Furthermore, as far as the safety features are concerned, the vehicle is equipped with SRS airbags(Driver-Passenger), ABS, ESC, HAC, DBC, EPB, engine immobilizer, parking sensors etc. 

Note here that Sante Fe has a panorama sunroof with a keyless entry option, moreover, as per a Hyundai official, the price of the car starts from PKR 16 million and goes all the way to PKR 18.5 million based on the features one opt for. The company justifies this price by stating that its flagship Santa Fe in Pakistan incorporates approximately 300% in compounded Government of Pakistan duties and taxes. The vehicle is being imported as is in Pakistan.

South Korean automotive giant, Hyundai, has once again entered Pakistan under the name of Hyundai-Nishat Motor Private Limited (“HNMPL”). HNMPL is a Greenfield investment, which is setting up a car assembly plant for Hyundai on M3 Industrial City, Faisalabad. It is pertinent to mention here that Mian Mansha, founder and CEO of Nishat Group also said that in the initial phase 7,000 vehicles would be produced; however, the production capacity will be increased to 30,000 units in the next five years.
