Islamabad & Lahore Traffic Update Amid Political Protest
A day after an assassination attempt on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, the political party has called for a country-wide protest after Friday prayers. The senior leader of the party, Asad Umar, tweeted: “There will be protest after Friday prayers across the country.” Hence, traffic police have issued a Islamabad and Lahore traffic update for the citizens.

Lahore Traffic Update
In its traffic alert, Lahore City Traffic Police have said that traffic is being diverted due to protest at following points:
- Shahdara Chowk
- Faisal Chowk, Mall Road
- Liberty Chowk
- Kalma Chowk Towards Model Town (Both Sides)
- Chungi Amarsidhu, Ferozepur Road (Both sides)
- Begum Kot Towards Shahdara Chowk
Additional traffic wardens have been appointed on these points.

Islamabad Traffic Advisory
In its traffic advisory sharing the possible road blockages in the twin cities. “There are chances of protest at Faizabad, Khanna Pull, Rawat, Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, and Sangjani after the Friday prayers,” the police tweeted, adding that no one will be allowed to block the roads.
The police further said that the force will ensure smooth movement in Islamabad.
