This was in October 2024 when Kia Lucky Motors started its electric lineup in Pakistan.  The company brought EV5 (AIR, EARTH) to the local market. Later, on January 17th, the company teased its audience with a brief message, urging them to “stay tuned” for an upcoming major announcement. Shortly after, Kia reinforced the suspense with another cryptic hint, further fueling curiosity.

We investigated the matter and came to know that Kia is ready to introduce another electric SUV to the Pakistani market – the EV9. And we reported all these episodes in our blog. However, the company has launched the EV9 in Pakistan and has also revealed all the necessary details, translating price, features, and specifications.

In this article, we will focus on the car’s price and international features, while the local specifications has been covered  in a separate blog.

Price of EV9

According to the company’s notification, the electric SUV EV9 is priced at Rs. 43,200,000. This price is relatively higher than the current trend in the local market and is understandably beyond the reach of many EV enthusiasts.

How It Looks Outside?

The car boasts a sleek and modern exterior with LED front lamps, DRLs, and rear combination lamps for enhanced visibility. It includes fog lamps for added safety.

A roof rack offers extra storage options, while the smart power tailgate provides adjustable opening height for convenience. The vehicle rides on stylish 21-inch black and gray two-tone alloy wheels. Digital mirrors enhance aerodynamics and visibility, while auto flush door handles add to the seamless design.

Available in a range of colors, including Panthera Metal, Flare Red, Snow White Pearl, and more, the car’s exterior perfectly balances style, functionality, and advanced technology.

What’s Inside the Cabin?

The car’s interior is designed for both luxury and comfort, featuring six seats covered in high-quality artificial leather. Heated and ventilated seats ensure comfort in any climate, while power-adjustable front seats allow personalized positioning.

The electric tilt/telescopic steering wheel includes heating and memory functions for convenience. The center console houses a wireless charging pad and multiple storage compartments. A 12-inch head-up display projects essential driving data, complemented by 12.3-inch (cluster) + 5 inch HVAC + 12.3 inch ccNC (Connected Car Navigation Cockpit), totalling 29.6 inch panoramic display.

Integrated climate and entertainment controls offer a seamless interface. While, the 14-speaker Meridian Premium Sound System provides an immersive audio experience.

The dual-pane sunroof adds space, rear vents enhance comfort, and keyless entry with push-start boosts convenience. Adjustable seatbacks ensure a relaxed ride.

The Power

The vehicle delivers 282.6 kW of power (141.3 kW front + rear) and 700 Nm torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 200 km/h. Its 99.8 kWh lithium-ion battery offers a 505 km (WLTP) range, while braking performance ensures a 100-0 km/h stop in 33.4 meters. Charging is efficient, with DC fast charging (10-80%) in 24 minutes (350 kW) and AC charging in 9h 45m (220V/48A).

Equipped with AWD dual-motor drive, it features Normal, Eco, Sport, My Drive, and Terrain (Snow, Mud, Sand) modes. It supports 400V/800V charging, with Boost mode and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for added versatility.

    This dual motor version of the EV9 in Pakistan costs 4 caror 32 lacs PKR.

    This same model in Australia costs 1 caror 88 lacs PKR (107,000 Australian dollars).

    The price difference is 🤯.

    In Both countries it is a CBU import.

    The reason it is “out of reach” for most is because of the astronomical prices here. Why is everything so expensive in Pakistan?!
