J250—The new Prado is the most buzzing news in the Pakistani market these days. Its major standout is its offering of practical features in a style that is best for both worlds. Let’s dig out deep to find out more about its design philosophy.

J250 – Overview

A few days back we reviewed J250’s petrol variant from the grey market imports, but this one is a CBU unit exclusively curated for Pakistani market. Offered in Pearl White color, this SUV has an impressive road presence and provides the best features suited for off-roading and city commutes. While this 5th generation model hugely resembles the Defender 130 and Rolls Royce Phantom, it looks sleek and rugged at the same time.

Eye-Catching Exterior

Although this new Prado has squeezed up in width, the addition of a few inches to its wheelbase makes it look huge and commands road presence. New Toyota cars have minimized the usage of chrome with more grey plastic and blacked-out trims.

In terms of overall profile, this full-size SUV looks beefier with a smooth character line running through it. 20-inch alloy wheels with a broad Yokohama tire profile make it competent against its rivals in wild ventures.

Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, J250 features a beautiful blend of modern and contemporary design philosophy. The 12″ dash screen and TFT dynamic cluster panel are fresh additions to this series. The steering wheel and dashboard layout resembles the LC300 and 70-series facelift. Other options include Dual Zone Climate Control, heated/ventilated seats, a hard button for audio and AC, and HDMI connectivity.

The head unit is in English, and Land Cruiser badging is found everywhere. The black roof liner without a sunroof keeps practicality at its best. Light adjustment, auto boot, and Telescopic steering with EPS are other offerings, while lumbar support with memory seats, a cool box, and 2.0 ELR seat belts make this SUV a great choice for off-roading.

Engine And Safety

With this model, Toyota makes sure to offer all the needed features and safety perks. Coming with ^ Drive modes of Sport, Sport S, ECO, Normal, and Comfort allows you to personalize your driving experience. Where auto hold, Diff Lock, Traction Control, Craw, Parking Control, 360-View,  and Down-Hill Assist are the primary safety specs of this all-time AWD.

This 8-speed transmission SUV comes with a 1GD-FTV diesel engine, which enhances its smooth transition and precise handling.

Pricing

The one we reviewed is the top-of-the-line variant, which is offered in a single colour, pearl white, and has an ex-factory price of Rs. 7.55 crores.

Land Rover Defender and Rolls Royce Phantom didn’t come out in 60s or even 70s, so how come this J250 looks like them? If J250 is put next to Land Cruisers J50, J60, J70, and J80 then we might find several similarities. Also, the J50, J60 and even J70 came out before Defender was even designed, so Defender is a copy of older Land Cruisers.
As for Phantom, well, isn’t Phantom a new vehicle that was designed around late 2020?
