0 2,555

The news of another increase in petrol prices has reached Pakistan, sparking widespread concern among the general populace. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced a Rs. 10 per liter hike in petrol prices for the next 15 days on Saturday. The rationale stated for this petrol price hike is the surge in worldwide petroleum costs and exchange rate fluctuations. As a result, fuel now costs Rs. 282 a liter, affecting transportation costs and daily expenses for many individuals and businesses alike.

While the prices of high-speed diesel and light diesel oil remain unchanged at Rs. 293 per liter and Rs. 174.68 per liter, respectively, kerosene oil has increased by Rs. 5.78 per liter, rising from Rs. 180.28 to Rs. 186.07 per liter.

This petrol price hike may appear insignificant to some, but for people who rely on paraffin for cooking and warmth, it can add significantly to their monthly expenses. Just a couple of days ago, it was rumored that a cheap petrol scheme was underway. But now this bomb of a news has burnt all hopes of cheaper petrol.

The news of the petrol price hike has sparked outrage on social media, with many people expressing their complaints and fears. Some people are doubting the government’s decision, while others are concerned about how it may affect their daily lives. Many people are encouraging the government to find alternate options, such as investing in renewable energy sources or lowering taxes on petroleum items.

It is worth noting that the spike in petrol costs is not limited to Pakistan. Many countries around the world are experiencing similar problems as a result of swings in the global oil market.

It is critical to be informed and plan accordingly as the scenario unfolds. We may reduce our dependency on fuel and mitigate the impact of rising prices by adopting tiny changes in our everyday habits, such as taking public transit or carpooling.
