With a decrease in the sales of vehicles and declining profits of local auto manufacturers, Pakistan’s automotive sector has become one of the most volatile sectors of the national economy. However, this has not changed people’s search habits on PakWheels.com.
Among the top searches for used cars, Toyota Corolla, Prius, and Land Cruiser were mainly looked up on PakWheels.com. However, unlike the last month, the search results for Toyota Vitz showed a decline. Among Honda models, the top searches were for City and Vezel. Interestingly, unlike the last month, the searches for Civic, N One and N Wgn have declined. The search results for Daihatsu Move and Mira continued to show an upward trend this month too. For Suzuki, Cultus, Alto, Wagon R, and Swift were mainly looked up by people, while the interest in Mehran dipped for the apparent reason that it has been discontinued. Suzuki Alto became the centre of attraction for many as there was an increase of 39.37% in searches for this vehicle from March to April 2019. Among the top searched bikes for April 2019, the trend did not change at all from last month as Yamaha YBR 125; Honda CG 125, CD 70 and CG 125 Special Edition and Suzuki GD 110 S were the most searched bikes for April 2019 too.
Among the 660cc engine capacity passenger cars, Suzuki ruled the roost as Alto, Jimny and Wagon R were most searched, while Daihatsu’s Mira also made it to the top searched cars’ category on PakWheels website. It is interesting to note here that this trend has not changed at all from February 2019.
In the 1000cc engine capacity passenger cars, the search trend has somewhat changed from February 2019 as Suzuki Cultus, and Wagon R and Toyota Vitz and Passo dominated the category. Previously, it was Alto and Wagon R and Toyota Vitz that dominated this segment.
Top searched sedans for April 2019 were Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and City, and Mercedes Benz E-Class. So, as compared to the previous month, the trend remained pretty much the same except for Suzuki Margalla and Mercedes Benz E-Class.
Top searched hatchbacks on PakWheels for the given period were Suzuki Alto, Cultus and Wagon R and Toyota Vitz. Last month, it was the same search result except for Toyota Passo. So, for April 2019, people didn’t look for Passo as much as they did for Vitz.
In March 2019, in the SUV category, top searched vehicles were Toyota Land Cruiser, Prado, and Surf and Suzuki Jimny. So, Toyota was the clear winner in this category. This month, it was Jimny, Land Cruiser, Prado and Pajero.
In March 2019, the Crossover category showed no change from February 2019. But this month, this category showed the most significant change in searches. In March 2019, the top searched vehicles were Toyota CH-R, Honda Vezel, HR-V, and BMW X1 Series. For April 2019, the most searched cars were Toyota CH-R, Audi Q2, Q3, and Honda Vezel.
All in all, the search trends remained similar in April as compared to the search trends in March 2019.
