Kia Sportage, the pioneer of the crossover SUV segment in Pakistan, has arrived with its 5th generation. Lucky Motors introduced the much-awaited new generation in three variants, with the HEV variant as the highlight. The new Sportage will surely be an exciting addition to the local market and will initiate a new race among the competitors. We have shared all the details, including specs, features, and images, with you. However, it is pertinent to mention that the company hasn’t unveiled the price and booking details of the new vehicle, as they will be shared on February 6, 2025.
Hyundai Tucson – Direct Competitor
Hyundai Tucson is considered the direct competitor of Kia Sportage, and it was the second major locally assembled crossover in Pakistan. After the launch, it too made ripples in the local market and showed a strong performance against the Sportage. And now, after the unveiling of the new Sportage, the biggest question is will Hyundai Nishat introduce the latest generation of Tucson in Pakistan. Well, there are some hints, but the company has not made an official announcement.
New Tucson Launch in Pakistan?
Back in December 2024, an imported unit was spotted in Karachi of Hyundai Tucson 4th generation. As a recap, here are the photos of that specific car:
The spotted unit was a pre-facelift 4th generation of Tucson, and these photos did spark its possible launch in Pakistan. To confirm, we did ask Hyundai Nishat, but one of the company officials categorically stated: “It is a private import, not an official unit” and “the company has no immediate plans to launch the new generation of Tucson in Pakistan in 2025.”
We contacted the company again after the recent launch of Sportage. Still, the answer was more of the same: the official told us that “there is no update as yet,” but he affirms that the new Tucson will be launched in Pakistan without giving a specific timeline.
Some of the market experts and sources do believe that the local market will get a new Tucson in 2025 because Hyundai will surely want to retain its place, and its best chance is the launch of the new model. So, fingers are crossed, and we seriously hope that we will get the latest Hyundai Tuscon. It is also important to mention that Hyundai has already introduced a new model of Elantra – a hybrid one, and Sonata, with the N-Line variant.
So, there is hope!
