Suzuki Swift Prices Rumoured to Increase
Pak Suzuki surprised everyone with the new Suzuki Swift model in February. The company transformed the car from a budget to a premium hatchback with a price tag of Rs. 25 to 29 lacs. But the houseful of features convinced the buyers that the new model is worth the money. Unofficial reports say more than 2,500 buyers have booked the new car.
The new Suzuki Swift is still in its honeymoon period, and reports are going around about an incoming price hike. Rumor has it that Suzuki is planning to increase the price of all three Swift variants by up to Rs. 3 lacs.
If the rumour is true and Suzuki does increase the prices of Swift, will the buyers who have already booked the car be safe? Probably yes, since they have made bookings at full price and 100% advance payment.
Current Suzuki Swift Prices
Here are the current ex-factory prices of three variants of Suzuki Swift 2022.
Base Variant Swift GL Manual Rs. 2,499,000
Mid Variant Swift GL CVT Rs. 2,699,000
Top Variant Swift GLX CVT Rs. 2,899,000
The new Suzuki Swift is, hands down, the best Swift we have ever had in Pakistan. It’s beautiful, feature-rich, safe, powerful, fuel-efficient, and offers a better deal than the sedans that come at this price. But if Suzuki hikes the prices, the top variant will cross Rs. 3 million. At that price, buyers will choose any of the four sedans (Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Changan Alsvin, Proton Saga) over this overpriced hatchback.
Bottom line is these are all mere speculations. Nothing has been confirmed by Pak Suzuki. We hope the rumors do not come true, and Suzuki Swift remains the premium affordable car. But anything could happen. Let’s see how things turn out with the new Swift and its prices, fingers crossed.
Only a foolish person would buy this over- hyped, over-priced hatchback which apart from a few cosmetic changes is no different from its ten year old version. It is better to buy its ten old version due to more reliability and performance.
