Indian car giant Tata is swelling with extending its electric vehicle lineup in the Indian market. The company has launched its third indigenous electric car dubbed “Tata Tiago,” which is affordable and small in terms of price.
Tata Tiago, a subcompact all-electric hatchback, costs INR 8.49 Lac (PKR 2.5 million) and is termed as one of the cheaper EVs in India. The company offers four variants of the car. Booking will be started from 10th October whilst the deliveries will take place in January 2023.
Features and Specifications
Power
Tiago comes with Tata’s Ziptron technology which is designed in accordance with Indian driving and weather conditions. The EV is equipped with two battery options. First, 19.2kWh with a claimed driving range of 250km and second, 24kWh with a range of 315km.
Charging
Moreover, the newly launched electric hatchback supports 3.3kW and 7.2kW home charging, which can charge the battery for 35km in 30 minutes while full in approximately 3.5 hrs. The vehicle also has an option of DC Fast charging, which can charge up to 80% in around 57 minutes.
Basic Features
Basic features in Tiago include an immobilizer system, powered windows, keyless entry, ISOFIX child seat anchors, reverse camera, parking sensors, digital instrument cluster, smart infotainment system with apple carplay connectivity, and manual AC.
The car also offers automatic climate control standard, 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, cruise control, 4 regenerative braking modes, multi-drive modes, leatherette seat upholstery, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, electric auto fold side mirrors, powered boot opening, and more.
Concerning the safety suite, Tiago comes with cornering brake control, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear-view camera.
