In a surprising turn of events, Tesla has dropped the prices of its Model Y and Model 3. For US buyers, the price drop is as high as 31%, including tax cuts. The Tesla prices will also be dropping in Europe though how much is still not known!
Tesla’s Sales
The whole world is facing the threat of recession and economic crisis. Due to this, the interest rates are increasing and the auto industry is facing supply chain issues all over the world. Just recently Pak Suzuki shut down its operations in Pakistan for an indefinite period of time due to supply issues. This whole fiasco has led to a drop in sales of almost all cars around the world. Whether it is a luxury brand like BMW or other automakers like Toyota and Honda, almost every company has faced a major setback when it comes to sales in 2022.
On the contrary, the only company that is able to boast an increase in sales is Tesla! Tesla has reported almost a 30% increase in its sales in 2022. It is quite surprising that despite the global economic conditions as well as Tesla’s successful past year, the company has reduced its car prices up to PKR 30 lacs.
The new prices are almost 31% less than the old prices. It is a huge drop considering Tesla has never been big on discounts or price cuts!
